This policy explains what happens to information when you use Debt Suit Map (debtsuitmap.com).

The short version

You don't need an account. When you download or copy one of our letters, or copy the list from the answer-form helper, we save the details you entered in that tool. We don't sell this information. We run a cookie-free visit counter to see how many people use the site.

The letters and the answer-form helper

The request for debt documents, the exemption claim cover letter and the answer-form helper work in your browser, and the PDF, Word and text files are created on your device. When you download a letter as a PDF, Word or text file, or copy its text, or copy the helper's list, we save the information you entered in that form: for example your name and mailing address; the name and address of the lawyer or court you are writing to; the plaintiff, the court and the case number; the original creditor and the last digits of the account; the exemptions you checked; and anything you added in your own words. We also record the page, the date and time, and your approximate location (country, state and city) based on your IP address. We don't save what you type until you download or copy.

We use this information to understand what kinds of debt lawsuits people face, in which states and courts, and to improve our guides and tools. We don't sell it, and we don't share it except with service providers that host our site and database (Cloudflare), or if the law requires it. We keep it for up to three years, then delete it.

Please don't enter information you don't want to share, such as full account numbers or your Social Security number. To see or delete the information you entered, email [email protected] with the name you used, and we will respond within 30 days.

The deadline calculators

The answer-deadline, set-aside and exemption calculators count dates in your browser. When you choose a state, your browser loads that state's published rules from our site, the same for every visitor. The dates you enter in the calculators are not saved.

Information collected automatically

Cloudflare, which hosts the site, receives technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the page you request, to deliver the page and protect the site.

We run our own visit counter. It does not use cookies. It keeps a random visit identifier in your browser's local storage. For each visit it records the pages viewed, the site you came from, the time spent on each page, clicks on buttons and links, your IP address, your country, state and city, and your device and browser type. We keep visit records for 5 years and then delete them. We don't use Google Analytics on this site.

Email, children and your rights

If you email us, we use your message only to reply. This site is meant for adults and is not directed at children under 13. You can ask us what we hold about you and ask us to delete it. Residents of states such as California may have additional rights.
